In my own lifetime I have seen the technology of the internet advance in leaps and bounds. I remember the dial-up sound. I remember the first mp3 that I downloaded, thinking that a 2-3 megabyte file was large and wondering why I would even want a song on my computer. I remember when streaming videos were only watchable for those with particularly powerful internet connections. If possible, downloading (and waiting hours!) was the better option. How far we have come! Today, there is a proliferation of good (not to mention terrible…) content at one’s fingertips and even in one’s pocket.

As we saw in the previous post on Mark 13, it is difficult to see where Jesus switches from describing the destruction of the temple in AD70 to His return. What if the answer is that Mark 13 isn’t about His second coming at all?

I hate being pinned down or “figured out” and I’m always skeptical (and a little annoyed) by those who try. However, I must admit that my wife won me over to the Myer-Briggs personality type system. Yes, yes, these things are all flawed, but I have found it uncanny how much it has helped me understand myself and other people. When a new semester begins at CCBCY, we love to try and guess the personality types of each student to better understand them. Maybe this sounds weird, but as an introverted teacher I need all the help I can get!
Believe it or not, I’m still (a year later) slogging through Wright’s Paul and the Faithfulness of God. Fans of G.K. Beale may know that he “famously” read Wright’s The Resurrection of the Son of God while brushing his teeth. Well, I’m not at all competitive, but I’m reading PFG on my iPhone! I know this is sacrilege for bibliophiles, but it seems to be working for me right now. Basically, I squeeze in a few pages here and there.

Believe it or not, I’m still (slowly!) working through N.T. Wright’s Paul and the Faithfulness of God. Not a lot has grabbed me as ‘share-able’ recently, so I’ve been quiet on the book for a while, waiting for part 3 (Paul’s theology). However, here’s a little taste of Part 2: Paul’s worldview.
