I hate being pinned down or “figured out” and I’m always skeptical (and a little annoyed) by those who try. However, I must admit that my wife won me over to the Myer-Briggs personality type system. Yes, yes, these things are all flawed, but I have found it uncanny how much it has helped me understand myself and other people. When a new semester begins at CCBCY, we love to try and guess the personality types of each student to better understand them. Maybe this sounds weird, but as an introverted teacher I need all the help I can get!

The warning passages in Hebrews regularly come up in discussions over whether a believer can lose their salvation. The warning in Hebrews 6 in particular is a common talking point. However, interpretation of these passages throughout the centuries has not been unanimous. How are we to understand these warnings? Thomas Schreiner, author of a recent commentary on Hebrews in the Biblical Theology for Christian Proclamation series from B&H, recently addressed RTS Jackson on this very topic and I found his overview helpfully lucid and his proposed solution compelling.

I used to walk a good 40 minutes round-trip to my job and to redeem the time I’d listen to a sermon or theological podcast and have built up a list of recommendations. I don’t agree with everything said, but these are informative and thought-provoking.

Well, duking it out is not quite accurate, but it’s a catchy title! For this part of the interview, I asked, “if you could ask ___ any question, what would it be?” I then gave them a chance to respond. Here’s how the questions work out.
