Best Books of 2015

Best Reads From 2015

As with last year, I’m won’t restrict myself to books released in 2015 since there are plenty of important books from this year that I haven’t (yet) read. So this is no attempt for inspired list of “best” books of 2015, and the age of a book alone shouldn’t determine it’s quality anyway. No, this is a subjective list of books – in no particular order – that impacted me most this year, and a little on why.

Personality Types and Scholarship (or, “Why are Doug Moo, Doug Campbell and N.T. Wright so different?”)

I hate being pinned down or “figured out” and I’m always skeptical (and a little annoyed) by those who try. However, I must admit that my wife won me over to the Myer-Briggs personality type system. Yes, yes, these things are all flawed, but I have found it uncanny how much it has helped me understand myself and other people. When a new semester begins at CCBCY, we love to try and guess the personality types of each student to better understand them. Maybe this sounds weird, but as an introverted teacher I need all the help I can get!

2014 in Review

I generally keep personal information to a minimum on this blog – assuming that’s not why people are here – but I will make an exception in this case. I enjoy learning more about bloggers that I follow; perhaps I’m not the only one? In this post I’ll give a little info about what the Lord is doing in my life, some highlights from the year, music I enjoyed, and books that made the biggest impact. That is the closest thing to a “best books of 2014” post that you will see here, so if that’s what you’re after, I won’t be offended if you skip this one and wait for the next!
